Facebook zastąpi wszystkie media? Newsletter Artura Kurasińskiego

Media prześcigają się w tworzeniu nowych sztuczek żeby przyciągnąć widzów, czytelników i słuchaczy. Cyfrowy świat rządzi się swoimi prawami i niestety najlepsi (czytaj: stare media ze swoim zapleczem) nie wygrywają tej walki. W zeszłym tygodniu Mark Zuckerberg opublikował długi list w którym wskazał kilka kierunków rozwoju swojej platformy - dla wielu dziennikarzy stało się oczywiste, że Facebook chce być medium konkurującym z wydawcami.

Już teraz Facebook zabierając pieniądze z reklam innym podmiotom skutecznie wygasza rozwój lokalnych inicjatyw i platform nastawionych na generowane informacji. Bez pieniędzy dla mediów, które tworzą wartościowe treści budowanie społeczeństwa obywatelskiego staje się bardzo trudne.

To co stało się podczas wyborów prezydenckich w USA pokazuje, że używają algorytmów i tanich sztuczek można doprowadzić do elekcji polityka, który świadomie kłamie (albo używa "alternatywnych faktów" w zależności od sympatii). W erze używania "fake news" jako politycznej broni opieranie się o algorytmy Facebooka jest przepisem na stworzenie miliardowej społeczności bezrefleksyjnych konsumentów prostych treści.
