Kiedy Mark Zuckerberg proponował Evanowi Spiegelowi 3 mld$ za Snpachata wszyscy pukali się w głowę. Wcześniej nikt nie był w stanie uwierzyć, że założyciel Facebooka zapłacił okrągły miliard dolarów za Instagrama.
Patrząc z perspektywy czasu wycena Instagrama i Snapchata był prawidłowa. Obecnie Snap próbuje zgarnąć z rynku 20-25 mld $ w ramach swojego debiutu giełdowego. Żeby to zrobić musiał przygotować odpowiednie dokumenty.
Można wyczytać z nich między innymi, że serwery kosztują rocznie 400 mln $, serwis żyje tylko z reklam, założyciele nie chcą pozwolić na przejęcie firmy nikomu i żywią obawę, że serwis nigdy nie będzie dochodowy.
Pomimo tych wszystkich ryzyk rynek kupił opowieść Snapa i zapewne debiut giełdowy się uda. Z portfelem pełnym gotówki Snap będzie mógł skupić się na swoich nowych projektach - między innymi okularów w których bardzo odważnie Spiegel chce wprowadzić funkcje AR.
