Elon Musk pokazuje roadstera i ciężarówki. Piski, krzyki - publiczność szaleje jak na koncercie rockowym. Musk w swoim stylu lekko speszonego studenta prestiżowej uczelni zapewnia o kolejnym przełomie. Tyle PR.
Teraz fakty - Tesla rozczarowała kolejny raz wynikami sprzedaży i produkcji. Akcje firmy poleciały w dół najniżej w historii. Zamiast 1500 sztuk "Modelu 3" do klientów trafiło zaledwie...260 samochodów.
Przypomnijmy, że już 63 tysiące osób zrezygnowało z preorderu (na chwilę obecną "w kolejce" znajduje się nadal 445 tysiące chętnych). Tesla "krwawi" finansowo tak bardzo, że specjaliści od giełdy przewidują jeszcze maksymalnie dwa tak słabe kwartały zanim spółka zbankrutuje. Spółka zwolniła też ostatnio 500 pracowników. Czyżby to by dzwonek ostrzegawczy?
Pytanie czy Elon Musk umie produkować samochody czy dobry PR? Bez wątpienia jest osobą o gigantycznych ambicjach - oprócz Tesli "przy okazji" macza palce w trzech innych spółkach - Boring Company i Solar City i SpaceX. Czy "dowozi"? Tak - firmy produkują, samochody się pojawiają. Tylko, że za wolno. Może zatem problem tkwi nie tyle w samym Musku? On sam twierdzi, że to wszystko wina dostawców.
Kilka lat temu wizja Muska i jego pierwsze samochody były uważane za coś niesamowitego. Krzywiono się na "starych" graczy jak GM, Volvo czy BMW - nie byli już sexy. Na chwilę obecną prawie wszystkie największe koncerny samochodowe ogłosiły, że w czasie 10 lat większość ich modeli będzie elektryczna albo co najmniej hybrydowa. Tesla traci swój urok branżowego łobuza i innowatora.
Samochody elektryczne nadal nie są ani ulubionymi pojazdami klientów ani firm je produkujących - pierwsi nie chcą kupować potwornie drogich miejskich samochodów (z uwagi na zasięg) a drudzy nie widzą jeszcze rynku i infrastruktury. Wszystkie deklaracje unoszone są ekologiczną słusznością i troską o środowisko. To nadal za mało żeby zrobić prawdziwą rewolucję.
Na pewno wszyscy - klienci i branża śledzą poczynania Muska i jego firm oraz trzymają kciuki. Jeśli Tesla zawiedzie oczekiwania i zbankrutuje może nastąpić efekt domina dla wszystkich pozostałych graczy.
Serce mówi "Tesla, dawaj!" ale rozum podpowiada "Elon, to może j*bnąć".
