W Londynie w 2017 roku zainstalowanych było ponad 500 tysięcy kamer CCTV. Przestępcy powinni bać się łamać prawo bo właściwie wszędzie ich działania są monitorowane. Jak to wygląda w rzeczywistości? W marcu media alarmowały, że Londyn wyprzedził Nowy Jork pod kątem ilości popełnionych morderstw. Czyli wizja stałego nadzoru jednak nie powoduje, że ludzie popełniają mniej przestępstw. A może kamer jest po prostu za mało?
Nagrywanie i rozpoznawania twarzy jest "świętym graalem" w branży marketingowej - prace nad tym prowadzą wszystkie największe spółki technologiczne a Apple wykorzystał to jako element zabezpieczenia dostępu do telefonu. Już teraz ilość aplikacji i gadżetów domowych posiadających kamerę i możliwość nagrywania jest duża.
Za kilka lat rynkowym standardem będą "inteligentne" zamki wpuszczające tylko właściciela albo systemy rozpoznawania emocji ("widzę, że jesteś czymś zmartwiony - może zamówić twoje ulubione lody?") wbudowane w kolejne wersje amazonowych smart głośników.
Nasze twarze będą skanowane tysiące razy dziennie. Dostęp do tych informacji będą miały urzędnicy państwowi, prywatne firmy i wiele organizacji. Oprócz tego co zostawiamy w sieci jako nasz "cyfrowy odcisk" dołączą informacje gdzie realnie byliśmy, co robiliśmy i z jakimi emocjami to się wiązało.
A potem tylko wystarczy poprosić algorytmy o analizę. Czy obywatel Jan Kowalski jest głodny albo cierpi depresję? A może ma ochotę na wystąpienie przeciwko władzy?
Wszak co ma do ukrycia zwykły, szary obywatel?
